Climate Change and the Olympic Committee
The International Olympic Committee – IOC is taking significant steps towards addressing climate change through the inaugural IOC Climate Action Awards.
This initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of athletes, International Federations and National Olympic Committees in combating climate change within the sports community. The categories involved are: sustainable travel, innovation, and athlete advocacy.
This initiative sends a powerful message to the world – sports can be a driving force for positive change in the fight against climate change, and we must all take inspiration and play our part in preserving the planet for future generations.
